process and in no way reflect of effect the overall judging
results. The call-back lists are only an indication of who the
specific agent, agency or scout might like and would like to
see.
•  We have a Chief Judge, a reputable auditing team and
legal representative overseeing the entire judging process and
Awards Ceremony.
•  It is also important to note that the attending Agencies/
Agents are in no way guided by the judging panel when it

decision of the contract winner/s are solely at their discretion.
This means that the overall category winners of YOTM 2011
might not be the person chosen as a contract winner.
•  Day 3 is show day. The day will be divided into two segments
– the Ages 5 to 12 will have their own Cocktail Spectacular
followed by a Grand Finale Designer show and then an Awards
Ceremony. Thereafter we will host similar functions for the Ages
13 to 30.
•  All attending finalists will participate in their respective
Cocktail Spectaculars dressed in their own cocktail outfits.
In this way we ensure that all finalists leave YOTM having
experienced everything involved in being part and parcel of a
big show.
•  The show director working on the two Grand Finale Designer
Fashion Shows (separate to the Cocktail Spectaculars) will
attend the respective judging sessions on day 1 and 2 where
they will then cast their models for the respective shows. They
will not feature on either of the judging panels.
•  The show directors casting lists have got nothing to do with
the judging process and in no way reflect the judging panel
results. These lists are only an indication of who the show
director feels should walk in their respective shows. The amount
of models which will walk in the respective shows will only be
known once the show director announces his selection lists on
day 2.
•  The top 5 achievers in the various categories, age group
winners and the respective contract/s winner/s will be
announced at the respective Award Ceremonies on day 3.
• YOTM is one of many competition associated with the Model
Cup initiative. The Model Cup promotes modeling as a sport
in SA. YOTM finalists will qualify for Model Cup points if they are
ranked within any of the three categories competed in. These
points will only be activated within the Model Cup framework
once the finalist registers as a Model Cup member. Once
activated these points will also count towards finalists qualifying
for their respective Provincial and National Model Cup Colours.

YOTM 2010 feedback

Last Updated on Saturday, 26 June 2010 14:00 Written by Gert Botha Saturday, 26 June 2010 13:56

Extract from YOTM website

The 2010 Grand Finale has come and gone. The event was as always action packed filled with intrigue, tears, frustrations, confusion and lots of laughs. Memories not easily forgotten.

Unforgettable moments – the beautiful venue Diep in die Berg (Anton and Henk thumbs up), the superb service (special thanks to Jesse and Sipho), the mouth-watering and affordable food (well done to David and his crew), the advices and  fantastic feed-back from our attending Cape Town based model development Agency Fanjam (special thanks to Fanie and James), the two high quality fashion shows, the huge effort put in by the inspiring Kevin Ellis, the attention to detail by the show stylist Gareth Greaves,  the announcement of our winners and the cherry on the cake the awarding of the several international contracts worth  US $70 000 to Vinette Schultz, Chanelle Soncini and Belinde Schreuder.

Forgettable moments – not many accept the long queues at times.

Special thanks to our sponsors (Race Models, Liam, Fanie, James, Kuna, NMC, Diep in die Berg), our professional chief judge and compere Kevin Charlwood, Joleen for taking care of the judging panels, Fanjam, the superb efforts of our two choreographers Kevin and Yolandi (big cheers to their crews and the designers involved), the relentless efforts behind the scenes work done by our photographers (Dom and his crew), make-up artists (The Make-Up issue), stylists (Gareth) and modelling school principals (Stacey, Annelie and Yolandi) for helping at the event. Thanks also to some of our past contract winner (Catherine) and her parents, Minnie, thanks for the doing an exceptional job done in handling the admin, ticket sales, enquiries and complaints. The production crew (Kevin and his helpers) for making the shows happen. Seth for the video production. A big shout out goes to all the parents and models for supporting and making 2010 a huge success. A big big applause to Joani (Ace Models), Anne (I Models), Gail and Tillie (Sophisticate Models) and Bianca (Mould Models) for putting in the huge effort in making YOTM a reality for your models. To all those forgotten who slaved away thank you.

Most of all thanks to our FATHER for his grace in giving us all the talents to do what we are able to do and for blessing us with the opportunity to live our dreams.

With this said its back to the drawing board – 2011 awaits us !!!!!
