Marnus Roothman is one of the most experienced and sought after wedding pianists in South Africa. His track record includes 6 years as pianist at the Allegro Restaurant in the State Theatre, and 2 years as resident pianist at the Palace of the Lost City at Sun City Casino Resort.

His music is relaxed and easy on the ear, comprising a mixture of ballads, golden oldies, blues and light jazz to suit all tastes and age groups. Working from a base of over 500 songs, he can provide music for a 5 hour function without repeating songs – or scraping the bottom of the barrel.

If a decent piano is not available at the venue, he uses his own portable digital Roland electric piano.

Included in his fee is a professional Yamaha public address system and high quality microphones that can be used by the Master of Ceremonies and other speakers. The sound quality is excellent, and the system can easily handle functions of up to 300 people. This constitutes a major saving for the bridal couple as it makes it unnecessary to hire in a PA system – usually at a very substantial cost.

Marnus is free to travel, a teetotaller, and dresses appropriately for the occasion he performs at.

His fee for a wedding reception or other function of up to 5 hours is R2 800. If the event is outside the Greater Pretoria area, a travelling fee of R2/km is payable.
